IR light is a harmless and natural light spectrum that adds to our bodies infrared light waves and provides us with heat. Infrared light waves are in the sun's warm light and in the bonfire’s warm glow, even our body emits infrared light waves.
If you can be outside, you can use IR light therapy. However, if you are sensitive to sunny and warm days or hot saunas you should use a temperature of 37-43 degrees Celsius in the sauna, tunnel, carpet and gradually increase when the body adjusts. It is meant to be a pleasant experience!
Infrared light waves are not to be confused with harmful UV-light. If you are not allowed to be exposed to UV-light, it can even be positive to visit an IR studio.
Please read more on what infrared light is here on the website so you understand how it works.
Always start with a lower temperature and a shorter session the first few times and increase both temperature and length over time, especially if you are sensitive to heat. You can experience benefits and pain relief even at temperatures like the body’s.
With certain conditions you should use extra caution, especially for temperatures exceeding 43 degrees Celsius and we recommend asking your doctor if IR is suitable for you if you are unsure or have concerns. Infrared light therapy is not new and has been used in medical practice, physiotherapy and rehabilitation for many years.
At our supplier, Luxway Nordic, there is a registered nurse for council that we refer to if you are unsure. Phone number is 031 - 89 90 80 during office hours.
